Beginning of the Year:
Class Captain will
- Meet with class parents after CP meeting to assign parties based on availability. Each parent will attend and participate in the planning and execution of a minimum of one class party per year. Generally, 2 parents attend each party. Provide this list to the other Captains in the grade before leaving.
- Send letters home to the class asking for $10 from each child to offset cost of the parties for the year.
- Make a list of all parents willing to volunteer for special events and/or donate drinks and snacks during the year.
- Collect all $$$ and turn over to School Captain.
School Captain will
- Take all monies collected each grade and redistribute it based on the number of students in each class. For example, the first grade Class Captains turn in $675 and there are 75 kids in the grade. Each class gets $9 per kid to use for parties.
- Money is given back to Class Captains to be distributed for parties. Money should be divided EVENLY among the parties.
Prior to Parties:
School Captain will
- Contact Principal for time and date of the party
- Contacts grade teachers for theme of party (if any)
- Relays this info to all the Class Captains
Class Captains will
- Contact party parents with information and provide the names/contact info of the other homeroom Class Parents
Class Parents will
- Work together to organize the parties around the teachers’ theme. This could mean pooling $ to buy in bulk for goody bags, utilizing a particularly talented parent for craft ideas, brainstorming a common game or activity.
